F is for Fight

On Monday morning in the hospital in Utrecht, my amazing, beautiful sister lost her fight with cancer. She passed away, with Ed, mum and I by her side. She knew we were there, she wasn't in pain thanks to the drugs the doctors maintained, adjusted and monitored constantly. I held her hand, she fought right to the end, but I am thankful she doesn't have to fight anymore.

Deb was aware that friends were visiting, she heard the many messages of support and good wishes, and knew she was loved by so, so many.

When she started this blog she was quite protective of it, but as her illness continued, she became more comfortable allowing it to reach others outside her immediate circle, and told me she was touched, and found strength in the correspondence sent.

If you click the link to her Facebook page there are other messages, and details of arrangements for her there, if you need them.

Debs last request on the notes she left for us, after her death, were that flowers not be sent, but that anyone who wishes to, contribute to a Cancer Research Charity instead. Here is a link to one in Holland, and one in the UK, or any other you know of should you prefer.

Love and best wishes, especially if you are in the same situation Debbie found herself in.
